Support for John Nagle

Support for John Nagle

I have been a bit quiet on the blog of late due to first the additional work involved in the smooth transition of The Financial Services School into LMI College and dealing with all the challenges as we move into Stage 4 lockdown in Victoria.

Nonetheless I need to say publicly how disappointed I was to hear that John Nagle had offered his resignation as CEO of iCare.

While I do not know all the fine details that led up to his decision, it does show us all the quality of the person when he puts the organisation above himself. Something that it seems less and less people are prepared to do in this era of power at all cost.

Trying to change the culture and direction of a small organisation is hard enough, one as large as iCare is something that few could do. From the limited dealings I have had with iCare, I felt that there was some real improvements being made in the organisation under Mr Nagle’s leadership.

I especially want to thank John for his support for the Mansfield Awards for Claims Excellence. He and iCare have been strong supporters of the Awards knowing the importance of claims to the industry from its very start 4 years ago. Without that support, along with that of Steadfast, the Mansfields would not be what they are today. It is important that we all remember the positive contributions that John has made to our industry in so many ways. I certainly will.

I wish both John and iCare all the best moving forward.

May I ask, if Mr, Nagle’s, father or grandfather, was Hilton Nagle, of Regents Park, N.S.W. I was a Member of the Regents Park, ALP, in the early 1950s. Hilton and I, though he more importantly, were prominent in the Western Sectors of Sydney. I ask, only, to affirm an affinity with the NAGLE FAMILY. As an aside, my first Senior Officer, was C.T. PARKER, aka – Charlie Parker, Senior Engineer at the White Bay Power Station. He, was the father-in-law of John Howard, later Prime Minister of Australia. I am appreciative of your thoughtfulness.

Thanks for your note Robert. I do not know Mr Nagle that well and have no understanding of his family history.
