Scams greatly increase during COVID-19 – here is one to avoid

Just after reading a report that stated the Federal Bureau of Investigation (“FBI”) had reported a whopping 400% increase in cyber attacks on small and medium businesses in the United States I received the message below from LMI Tech Support.

While I do get involved regularly in providing expert reports on general insurance related matters I did not feel comfortable and so did a quick google search on the name.

The first concern was the jp country code. Secondly, a gmail account to me is always a concern. Third, a sense of urgency “Your urgent response is required” – he does not want you to think just click.

The first website that appeared was StopScamFraud. It stated on Barrister Henry:

Please be careful opening any email and remember “think before you click’.

The last thing any of us want to do is fall for one of these scammers when we are already stressed and impacted by COVID-19.

Stay safe. Stay well. Stay alert!
