Product Recall – Seeley Braemar Outdoor Air Conditioner Units

As you know, I post each week the Product Recalls released by the ACCC and hope that it helps those who may have purchased a recall item to know and be able to return it before any problems.

This one I felt needed its own post, as on Christmas Night 2018, the night of the fire in my own home, the emergency responders told me that mine was the 4th fire they had been to that day. The other 3, caused by Air Conditioners.

Affected models are said to have been purchased between October 14, 2016 and March 28, 2018.

The ACCC explains on their website that the power factor correction capacitors fitted in the affected batches may fail, causing a potential fire hazard.

The recalled units are:

Seeley International Pty Ltd

Braemar SCHF21C3S or Braemar SCHF25C3S Outdoor Air Conditioner
