Now is the time to raise ESL with the NSW Government

After every mass shooting in the US the National Rifle Association come out and say this is not the time to have the debate. Well this is in fact, the best time to have the debate for the community, perhaps not for the NRA.
The same is happening here about the Emergency Services Levy in NSW. As I reported earlier today the fire services are warning people that they may not get the help they need when they need it.
Ben, a broker in NSW has gone to his local member who is meeting with him to discuss the issue and I applaud Ben for his efforts and I wish more in the industry would do the same.
Ben wrote and asked if I had more material and I referred him to the many articles I have posted on this site on the subject and to the website NoTaxOnInsurance.com.au.
I also provided him with the introduction to the Foreword to the Discussion Paper dated July 2012 prepared by the NSW Treasury and the Ministry for Police and Emergency Services. I reproduce this below.

This clearly shows they know the issues but this government cannot get its act together to fix the problem despite being able to draw on the experience of every other mainland state and territory.
It also shows that engaging Allan Fels, who ought to have brought with him the experience of the transfer of the tax in Victoria, is a continuing waste of tax payer’s money.
I, and I am sure others would gladly donate our time to assist in getting this sorted.
This nonsense has to stop as every prediction is that, whether you believe in climate change or not, just looking at population growth we have a greater need than ever for our fire and emergency services moving forward.
As Pink so eloquently put it overnight. “I do not care about your politics, I care about your children”, I would add grandchildren. That is why I am so angry and disappointed in the NSW Government.
