Mansfield Awards – Survey Open + Nominations for the Inaugural Purple Mansfield

This year’s Mansfield Awards for Claims Excellence will be held at The Establishment, 252 George St, Sydney NSW 2000 on Thursday 15th September 2022.

The vision behind the Mansfield Awards remains to drive positive change in claims handling in General Insurance and to recognize those that do our industry and brand insurance proud, not to mention provide excellent claims service to their premium paying customers, delivering the promise to treat them fairly, and to protect them financially when things go wrong.

I, and the team at the Mansfield Awards are delighted to have the two sponsors of the event, Steadfast Group, and icare, who have both been with us since the events inception in 2017, back with us for what will be our 6th year. Thank you icare and Steadfast.

I am also pleased to announce that long standing friend and industry icon Mark Silveira has agreed to be this year’s Master of Ceremonies. Thanks Mark.

As in previous years there are five categories which will be judged.

1. Personal Lines;
2. SME Property and Casualty;
3. Corporate Property and Casualty;
4. Specialty; and
5. The Gold Mansfield for overall Claims Excellence.

It is not necessary for anyone to nominate for these, with the results determined by a combination of AFCA statistics and surveys for the first two categories and by survey for categories 3 and 4.

The Gold Mansfield is awarded to the insurer or underwriting agency that scores the highest overall.

While an insurer or underwriting agency nor their staff can vote for themselves, it is well within the rules for them to ask their brokers, suppliers and above all their customers to complete the survey.

This year we have added a new category, the Purple Mansfield, which is designed to acknowledge an individual or company that has gone well and truly above and beyond for their customer or a community. This is open to anyone in the claims process including brokers. As we will not necessarily know of the great work that many within our great profession carry out, we do ask for a short nomination. And yes, self nomination for this one is okay.
