LMI Claims Conference

Realising the importance of ongoing learning, LMI held their annual conference for the claims team in Sydney last week.

A wide range of topics were covered from an update on recent court cases involving general insurance claim decisions, a detailed analysis of the Reasonable Care Condition found in many policies by LMI Legal, lessons learned from business interruption losses by LMI Forensics, issues around storm damage to solar panels by LMI Claims, a detailed run through of the new Mark IV Consolidated ISR Policy wording by LMI Policy Services, and the benefits and risks associated with the use of Artificial Intelligence in Claims and general insurance in general by LMI IT.

We also covered off the various compliance training and testing that is necessary when you hold a Australian Financial Services License. Something that LMI Group take very seriously. Thanks to Alison from LMI College who ran the various sessions and congratulations to Steve Smith our Technical Manager who blitzed the tests.

During the conference it was appropriate to acknowledge and present 10 year service awards to Caroline Stevens from LMI Forensics and Georg Froeschl from LMI Claims.

Special thanks to Ben Szczerbinski from CGU Claims who stepped in at very short notice when one of our insurer presenters took ill with COVID.

By meeting last week allowed all many of our team to attend the 8th Mansfield Awards on Thursday evening. We congratulate all the finalists and winners on the evening.
