ANNOUNCING – Lessons Learned: Chicago
Today, I consider to be a great day, for it is when I completed the final proof read of my latest book. This one is different as for the first time I co-authored with my daughter, Susan.
The book looks at 6 major events over Chicago’s history. These are:
- The Great Chicago Fire
- The Haymarket Riots
- The Iroquois Theatre Fire
- SS Eastland
- Tylenol Murders
- The Great Chicago Flood
It also includes for the insurance and risk communities, the lessons learned which came out of each event and in another first, looking at the human side of the tragedy and how the insurance industry can better assist their customers. This is where Susan, with her doctoral studies in clinical psychology has been of great assistance.
The 141 page coffee table book will be launched on the 21st of October, in the city of Chicago, right opposite where one of the six cases occurred. This was the sinking of the SS Eastland, in the Chicago River.
This book, which follows the same format as Carter v Boehm, The Great Fire of London and the Snail in the Ale, retails at AU$77.00 including GST.
If anyone would like to pre-order, what to me is one of the most interesting books I have been involved in, you can do so by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
