A change in my role

A change in my role

After founding LMI Group in February 1999 and heading the company for just over 20 years, I have elected to step aside and let the next generation take over in the full knowledge that the organisation is in good hands and the values of compassion, family values, tenacity, and above all, utmost good faith are embraced wholeheartedly.

This has not been a knee jerk decision, as I started planning for this in 2011 with a 10 year plan but Steve Manning who will be taking over as CEO from today has shown himself well and truly ready and by mutual decision we moved the change over date forward by 2 years.

Most people will know Steve and know that he has all the qualities needed for his new expanded role. I am sure he will continue to make a significant difference to the growth and development of LMI.

I will remain on working the same hours etc as Executive Chairman but with more time to devote to the areas that I love which include
projects on the ongoing affordability of insurance in Australia, micro insurance in developing countries, terrorism coverage, climate change, silent cyber exposures, non conforming building materials, and of course education to name but a few.

LMI is much more than anyone person with nearly 100 experts forming part of the group providing over 20 services to the insurance and wider communities.

Thank you to all those who have supported me personally and LMI and I look forward to maintaining our relationship moving forward.
